Mile is an indigenous Wayúu girl who lives happily with her large family in a ranch in La Guajira, Colombia, between the sea and the desert. Involuntary discovery of a crime forces them to flee to a large city, where they will live as displaced. There they are seized by the "midnight bite", hunger and nostalgia for the lost home.
